Volunteers & Internship Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our programs. The programs of the Family Institute for Creative Well-Being are made possible by the efforts of many wonderful volunteers.  These volunteers assist in a wide variety of areas on either a short-term or ongoing basis.

Arm paintingFamilies who live with disabilities and chronic illnesses are often financially strained.  The income of families coping with a member with a disability is only 66% of families in general (2000 US Census).  And of the families we work with who have a child who has a long term hospitalization, often a parent stays with the child and is unable to work.  It is for these reasons that we try to offer our healing programs at little to no fee for families and participants.  It takes both volunteers and donors to make this possible.
