Who We Serve
Our programs are designed for families and their individual members who live with disabilities or chronic illnesses that have an impact on daily life.  Because our focus is on the impact on the family and its individual members, our programs are not disease specific.  In fact, the variety gives new perspectives and approaches to managing challenges that accompany these health conditions.

Just a few of the health conditions (disability or chronic illnesses) that we work with:

  • autism
  • brain injury
  • cancer
  • cerebral palsy
  • down syndrome
  • lupus
  • mental health conditions
  • muscular dystrophy
  • seizure disorders
  • . . . and many, many more
Common factors we address through our programs:
  • achieving some degree of "normal"
  • "why me?"
  • ambiguity
  • loss
  • acceptance versus overcoming (fixing, curing) – and the fine line between them
  • fear
  • isolation
  • discrimination
  • overwhelming burden
  • doubt, uncertainty, blame & shame
  • physical demands
  • independence versus dependence
  • self-esteem
  • developing and maintaining relationships
  • managing change
  • building understanding and insights
  • sharing wisdom
